A Maori Myth of Creation


This week we had our first literacy lesson in room 2 for a very long time. We had our first lesson of the term and we learnt about a Maori Myth, it was about how the earth was created. We read 2 texts and compared them we then had to create either a film review or a voice for the movie. I enjoyed this task it was fun and I'm looking forward to doing more!

    You have chosen some stand out WORTHY WORDS - repugnant, tenacious, wilful and changeable. Try to use some of these words, where appropriate, in your next piece of writing to really engage your readers! As you have noted, there are some differences between each version of the Maori Creation myth. However, I agree that main characters of Ranginui and Papatuanuku and their separation are the key elements that must not be changed in any retelling of this story.
