Figure it Out: Statistics and Probability

Today in math we looked at probability once again. It was a lot of fun because we played a game with a coin and looked at how likely we were to win a carnival game.

Decimal Fractions

Today we did Maths, Auckland is back in lockdown for 3 days so from tomorrow up till Monday next week school is happening online. For this specific task we looked at Fractions and Decimals, they are practically the same Fractions and Decimals are parts of a whole. I found this task decently easy as I have done similar things to this since year 4, but it was a fun thing to recap on!

Pythagoros Therom!

This week in maths we learnt about the Pythagoros Therom. It's when you use the add together two sides of a rectangle after they are squared and then find the sqaure root of that answer to find the hypotanues of a right angle triangle.

When we finsihed we had to do a task where we had to show how the sqaure and triangles can be rearranged to make another shape.

 This was a way to prove the Pythagoros Thereom. I like this task I did it twice one with Eden and again with Pisi. It was really fun and I did find it interesting!

Walt: extract information from a range of graphs

Today we learnt about statistics and we learnt about it using most of the culutures in room 4 maths. We used graphs and things like that. Here is my inforgraph is has a bar graph a pie graph writing and a pictures. I enjoyed this task and can't wait to do more enjoy!

DMIC Group Lesson

Hello dear veiwer welcome to my blog here is another post Enjoy!

Today in Maths We did another dmic group lesson. We are learning to be understanding and working togther in a group better. In our groups we had to do team building exercise it was fun and this time we managed to keep the noise level down. 

The First activity we did was using string and rubber bands to build a cup tower it was really fun and pretty easy. My group was the first to finish we stacked the cups and unstacked them in under a minute.

The Next task was to do a break out I thought this one would be really hard but we worked together and it didn't take long for us to crack each lock one by one.

I think that today we worked well and that task for us won't take long.

Tricky Decimals Problems 2

Task Description: For this task we had to add and subtract decimals. I this task was not too hard but I think I and do more practice on this. I hope we do more on deciamls and I want to learn further on decimals. I didn't work with anyone for this task because I didn't find it too hard, here is the gold medal problems there is still the silver and bronze so check them out and leave me a comment THANKS!

Task Description: For this task we had to add decimals. This Task was pretty easier but I did have some trouble on the second qeustion. This time I didn't work with anyone but because this was my second time doing this task so I decided to work on my own. Task Description: It's the first day of term and this week we are learning about decimals. I also collaborated with Inga and Caleb check out there work too. I have worked with decimals before so this was easy for me I hope you enjoy!

Analysing Data

Walt: Analyse date and and display data using graph

Task Description: Today we did a speed typing test, then collected data and sorted it. We put the data on a graph then we go to customise it. For the test we had to write as many words we could write in a minute. My score was 37 words it was the second highest amount of words in the class and Leilani got 39. I like this task because we experimented and we had to follow instructions then we had to do it and this task was fun and easy!

Task Description: This week we learnt about the different ways there are to solve subtraction questions. For this task we had to answer qeustions about the Fish and Chip shop across the road. Personal Trainer

Walt:  solve problems using Ratios Task Description:  This we learn about ratios. Here is a task about a personal trainer and his clients. We had to use mutiples for this task, it was not that hard but the second question took some thinking but I worked it out in the end. I hope you enjoy!
