~Euphoria~

It was a typical November evening, the sun was setting. It was utterly beautiful ‘ARGH THIS IS SO HARD’ Jack sighed in frustration. He had spent hours, days and possibly weeks trying to get the same book written. But this is the worst case of writer's block Jack had ever gotten.

He’d been struggling to get a single idea written on his blank page. It was as if his mind was either blank, wondering about something else or dealing with the issues that come with life. His wife had left him, 2 weeks ago. Now that can leave a man with mixed feelings.

After a few moments of staring at the blank page. He thought about how much easier it would be if he’d kept his mouth shut. Jack sighed in frustration ‘I keep messing up, messing up my marriage, messing up this stupid piece of writing’ he looked out side at the shining sun. ‘I’m miserable and I feel like giving up’ Jack spoke to his dog.

Bella was Jack’s golden retriever. She was always energetic and even on the darkest days she made Jack smile. Bella came to live with Jack after he moved out of college and got his own place. His parents had gone into retirement and they were probably sick of having ‘ a mangy old mutt prancing around in their castle of gold’.

Jack came from a wealthy family, his dad was a lawyer, and his mother practiced in medicine. Jack grew up in a busy household, even though he was an only child. His parents were always popping in and out as their occupations required lots of time. But it’s what made them happy, and who was Jack to question that.

After leaving college Jack decided to travel the world. He has a strange ambition that drove him to see the many wonders the world had to offer. He spent 10 years traveling. He went to Hawaii and surfed the tropical waves, he studied music in Tokyo and met the love of his life in Paris.

She was a lovely woman. Jack knew the minute he laid eyes on her that he’d marry her one day. From that day on, they were like 2 peas in a pod. A loving, happy couple that moved to North Carolina where she'd continue to record music and he’d write.

Jack stood up from his desk. He walked over to the window. He looked at the moon, the wonderful crescent moon it seemed so peaceful. He walked outside, the moonlit path and the cold air on his face. He was flooded with euphoria as he slowly strolled through the darkness of the night.

"The Best Day Ever"

In July my mom had her 40th Birthday. My dad took it upon himself to make sure it was the best birthday ever! It’s almost impossible to make something amazing when it seems like the world is against it.

On the Tuesday of my mum's Birthday we woke up extremely early, the sun wasn’t even up. We got to  work cooking her breakfast. We’d brought the ingredients beforehand. Since I was the only one capable of using the stove without burning down the house I was put incharge of cooking. My little sister Zaria, insisted on being the one to mix the batter for the pancakes but I mixed in all the chunks when she wasn’t looking. Alisha sliced the kiwifruits, apples, strawberries, mangos and bananas for the fruit salad.

We had just started preparing breakfast when my dad pulled into our driveway with a brand new car. The writing on the windshield read ‘HAPPY 40th BIRTHDAY’ so we knew right away what it was for. My dad put the finishing touches on the car while we cooked breakfast.

When I came back inside, the pancake batter was burning on the stove. Alisha was yelling at me, with a bleeding finger and it started to rain. The rain washed off the marker on the windshield and it ruined the outdoor setting we had set up. Everything was falling apart. My dad yelled at us to clean things up and with all the commotion MY MOTHER WOKE UP!

She woke up on her 40th Birthday so see, a completely messed up kitchen. Her eldest daughter's finger cut up. An expensive Mitsubishi CX-5 parked in her driveway and her husband yelling. What an amazing birthday it was!

What's My Culture to Me?

I am Fiji-indian; Though I was born in here in New Zealand my family dates back generations in Fiji. My culture to me is following my religion. This can be things like fasting in Ramadan and Celebrating Eid, reading the quran. I am proud to be who I am!

Slit-throat

‘Yes welcome; please take a seat on the left’ The mayor said. Several townspeople had gathered in the town hall in order to discuss the action that will be taken against the recent deaths in Gibesalf-falls.

The meeting began, but not much later came the people in Town hall stunned by the presence of Nicholas Aldom. He was known as the town’s hill billy, Crazy person. ‘I hope I’m not interrupting anything’ he said in a posh voice as he hung up his coat. Galloping over to a seat near the mayor.

‘Not at all’ the  mayor replied with a stern and cold voice. It was no surprise that his presence was not welcome there, as Nicholas was known to do everything in his power to question the mayor's authority.

‘It seems that we have another homicidal maniac on our hands’ the mayor started 'the sheriff and I, are open to hearing suggestions, thoughts, or any hush hush information on this case'. A quiet murmur arose in the room. Nicholas could hear that many seemed to be about him.

‘I beg your pardon, but it’s very rude to talk about someone in such a manner’ He exclaimed, jumping out of his seat. He marched right up to the mayor looking him square in the face and saying ‘This man is a hoax isn’t it clear to you all that he has done literally nothing to help you out of this mess’.

The crowd dispersed before the meeting got out of hand. Nicholas decided that he would take it upon himself to assemble a cult. Not any cult but one that would stand together fighting the forces of evil, the like so called “slit-throat” in Gibesalf-falls.

The day went by slowly it was gloomy grey, but the magnificent colours of the leaves on the trees made up for it. The grass was moist and puddles filled the pavements. ‘What a wonderfully peaceful time of year’ Nicholas thought out loud.

Later that evening another gory night took place. He walked through the dark alley.  His shoes are clacking on the pavement. Clack Clack. I watched as he marched closer. A knife in his hand.

He was tall and mysterious, with incredibly broad shoulders. It made me wonder how he managed to stand up right. He walked closer and closer, to the small girl weeping in the corner.

I watched helplessly, as he finally reached her. He came to a halt, a dark smirk creeping across his face. He raised his hand and slit the girl across her neck. He didn't stop, he held her there for a second.

I watched in horror. Was this real, no it couldn't be. I ran, I didn't know where or why, but I had to leave. It was the late hour of the night, and I didn't know who I should tell. I decided my best bet was my friend, the one person I could confide in.

I had arrived home, it was late. My wife and child were out, probably spending my week's wage at the mall. It didn't matter, I was tired.

I sat down for a moment of silence. It felt like only a second when my friend barged in through the door. He was out of breath and with cold sweat accumulating on his forehead.

I calmly asked "How may I assist you at this hour"

'Murder, Alley, Tall dude' He said out of breath

'Cedric calm down and tell me what's wrong' I started looking at him seriously

He took a deep breath and took a seat on the brown sofa I had placed in the living room. 'I just witnessed a murder, It was a girl, she she-' He stuttered

'Cedric how many times do I have to tell you, take your pills and stay in your new home. The doctor had told you missing them will affect your mind negatively leading to mild hallucinations' I started hoping my words would persuade him.

'But it was real' he said again

Later that evening, after I had convinced him that it was all a pigment of his imagination he finally went home. It was exhausting, and he was quite stubborn. It was a close call, nobody can know what took place in that alley. And nobody can know my secret. I am the murderer.

The next morning it was printed all over the paper, Headlines were “Cedric Willows a mental health escapee” and “Mentally unhealthy Hazard on the Loose”. ‘What a whole lot of malarkey’ Nicholas said as he sat on his front porch reading the new paper, with his steaming cup of coffee placed in his hand.

‘Welp let’s not waste anymore time, looking at events from the past and focus on the present and future’ Nicholas said as he grabbed his top hat, cane and coat. He decided to walk to the local high school; the one he wasn’t banned from. Gibesalf-falls public high-school it’s been a while long since he’d been at the highschool but he mustn't dawdle there was no time to waste.

Many students had just arrived out of their classrooms rushing to their lockers, friends and second period classes. Nicholas clutched his clipboard in his hands. He put up a couple flyers and gave out sign up sheets, by the end of the day they had 15 members.

‘Welcome everyone, to the first official meeting of the Black circle, I am Nicholas Aldom, your founder and club president’ Nicholas started he then continued ‘ We are gathered here today, because both you and I believe that there is an injustice happening amongst us  and SLIT-THROAT that serial killer, must pay for his sins’ he states in a stern voice.

Some of the students flinched, but everyone stayed silent until ‘Yes we're right behind you all the way. But what’s the plan!?’ It was a jock from the football team. Pale white skin, blonde hair, he was quite muscular. He had blue eyes and freckles. ‘Hello my name is Jason, My sister was one of the people slaughtered by this atrocity’ he stated, he walked closer to the other people in the room ‘we must rid this town of this sinner’ he said in a dark voice.

‘Well then I guess it’s necessary that we get a move on’ Nicholas said

‘The people that got slaughtered are all related’ a small voice said. It belonged to a girl she was wearing a pink top and had her blonde hair slicked back. Everyone turned their heads to look at her, she unfolding her arms she had a powerful stride. The kind of stride that let everyone know “DON’T MESS WITH HER” .

‘How so?’ Nicholas questioned.

‘I did my research uncovering that all of these people had an encounter with the mayor’ she stated her eyes scanned the room,  looking for a response from the audience.

‘Are you stating that the mayor had something to do with the killings’ Jason asked

Nicholas ‘Malarkey, it’s much too soon to make assumptions and or accusations we must INVESTIGATE’

‘I agree nobody deserves to be generalised that’s why I’m here’ A deep yet somehow quivering voice stated. It belonged to a male wearing a leather jacket having some kind of bird imprinted on it. ‘Hello my name is Cole I come from a low income family, I don’t have fancy clothes and sometimes I have 1 meal a week’ he turns his back and walks through the pathway that the crowd had created for him. ‘I’ve become what some people call the prime suspect the mayor had fired me from my job at the drive in and that was obviously my motive’ Cole raised his hands near his face and made quotation marks to resemble the sarcasm in his voice.

The meeting went on for several hours and theories were thrown around. The group had become really solid and they had also formed a plan. But for now there prime suspects are the Mayor, Sheriff, several other people that had been at the seminar earlier in the week. Nicholas was glad, some kind of action had to be taken and he was happy to be a part of it.

Acceptance and Trust!

There once was a forest, in which many mythical creatures lived together in. There were Giants, and goblins, pixies and dragons all carrying on with there day to day lives. It was perfect harmony.

Then one day a pixie ran screaming through the forest disrupting the sleep of Oscar. He was one of the most fierce dragons leaders the drogon clan (named after their ancestor) had ever seen. They were in charge of protecting the forests from any of the dangers.

Oscar was not mad as he secretly had a soft side. He only showed it too those he knew he did not have to fear. He asked the pixie what was causing her to make such a racket whilst running through the forest. The pixie told him what she had seen in the clearing near the river. Oscar agreed that him and his dragons would go and check it out later today, putting the pixies mind at ease.

Later that day Oscar, Cedric and Ronald went down to the river to see what was up. They heard loud rumbling noises and the falling of trees. It didn't sound good and the shaking of the ground wasn't helping either. The three dragons did best they could to fly over head undetected.

What they saw did not make them happy at all. They were tearing down the forest. There we stranger machines and small monkey type creatures controlling them. Monkey's that Oscar and his dragons had meet before had never been so advanced. What was happening he thought.

By night they humans stopped there work and left. The ruckus they caused had riled up the mythicals creatures of the forest. They assembled in the drogon clan cave. Oscar, Cedric and Ronald shared what they had seen at the clearing. Many of the more sensitive giants we taken a back while others raged with anger.

They had to do something. They decided that the pixies could gather there pixie dust and use it's magical properties to shrink down on of the giants who would then collect information which will later be used to form a plan.

The next morning the mythical creatures reassembled and spread out to there given positions. They had eyes and ears in the ground sky trees and water. Almost everywhere you could imagine. George the giant who had volunteered to carry out the plan received the signal from Isabella the pixie and wondered into the what the sign read "construction sight".

One of the monkeys ran over to George immediately in what seemed like territorial behaviour. George asked what was happening and it was explained that something called a shopping mall was going to be built in the clearing. George nodded and found an excuse to back away from monkeys. He then backed away from them making sure not to anger them anymore.

That night the creatures of the forest meet once more to conspire a plan. The dragons and giants agreed that the only option was war. But the pixies and goblins wanted a no violence policy to be put in place. They agreed that the best option would be to talk it out and then revert to their plan if things went wrong. Nicholas who was lord of the goblins said that they should tell the monkeys the truth maybe they'd leave us alone he said. The drogon clan agreed and it was set in stone that that was going to be their plan.

The next day they went to the clearing all prepared to hear the worst. They'd thought that they would not be accepted into their society. Or they'd be seen as a threat or cast aside. So they were prepared not to expect much.

When they arrived they proceed to tell the monkeys the truth. They told them that they should stop what they are doing to the forest as it's already been inhabited by the mythical creatures. The monkeys also told them that said they were not crazy advanced monkeys but a new species of mere human beings.

They all decided that they to leave things as they are and restore harmony to the land. Both sides wanted to avoid a big war. In the end they were all happy with each other and created and created a bigger harmonious bond, through acceptance and trust!

What If

Here is an extra literacy task, from Ms Stones. For this task we had to highlight the Subject and Verb from different sentences. We also got a story beginning and we had to choose a top and write about it. My story is about vampires were wolves and witches, but this is a long term story so there will be more coming later on.

What Is Purpose Of School???

Why do parents send us too school. Is it cause they don't want us in the house, or do they think going to school is compulsory? Well here are three reasons why parents send their children to school.

Firstly adult think that sending, their children to school will help them socialise. They will think that sending you to school, will help you make friends and close colleagues. For example when being home schooled you academics will raise 18% but you will not be social as you will most likely learn by yourself.

Secondly adults expect you to learn from your mistakes and will most likely think that those mistakes are made at school. They are quite right, at school you will learn to gain and lose friends and you learn to add and subtracts. Learning more about human feelings and about literacy and math.

Thirdly adults think that when your in school you will get more opportunities for your life career. Because schools want you to get a good job and enjoy your life so they, try and get as many oppurtinuties for their students as possible. For example, I have associated with the eels and because of this I have met many people and had lots of oppurtinuty to meet and learn from different places.

So in conclusion I think that school is important and we all need school. However I do think it has it's up and downs. Overall I do enjoy school and think that at some point we should all have a school experience.
