Algebra Everywhere

Today we looked more algebra. It was a lot of fun, but really repetitive. looking forward to doing more. ;D

Agile Algebra 2

Today we had Maths. We looked at algebra and finding a rule in patterns. It was a lot of fun and I enjoyed it a lot. But I now know that this is something I have to practice more, as I did struggle in the beginning.

Agile Algebra 1

Today we moved into doing angles. We also looked at line graphs. It was pretty easy but I did get confused on the last question because my brain was over complicating things.

Box Math

Today in maths we had did a dmic like problem. Basically we had to use a square piece of paper to create a box without a lie to do this we had to cut off a specific amount of square on each side of the paper. We then have to fold up the flaps and 2 we got flaps. Along with that we had to find out the volume of the square. Mine was 507cm3

Height= 3cm
Length=13cm
Width= 13cm

I had the most volume in my box. We found that the answer mostly relied on the length and the width but it also relied on how big the height was.

Practice makes perfect

Today in maths, our group did a recap on the things we've learnt so far. I struggled a lot on the last question but it wasn't to long till I worked it out!

Measurement Mathletes!

Today we did a couple of maths recaps. We practiced multiplying decimals. We practiced finding the area of different shapes to. I quite enjoyed this as it was really easy and quick. I am however really ready to move on from measurement!

Tongan Travel ~MATHS~

Today in maths we solved this question about Tongan travel. It was an algebraic question in which everyone thought it was going to be really hard. But it turned out that all we had to do was read the questions properly. I enjoy this and hope we do more later!

Answer- The first dot was Aunty Anna the second was Uncle Loni the third was Uncle Pita and the fourth was Aunty Kuini.

Measurement Mathletes

Today we had another maths lesson we learnt about  measurement again. We looked at how to find the area and volume of different shapes like triangles, square, cylinders cubes and so on. I enjoyed this task and it was really easy being able to recap!

Meet Measurement

Today we had a maths google meet. We got given some slides to do, and in those slides we had to put some decimals in order and we started to look at measurement. We looked at what measurement tools we use to measure specific things. It was pretty straight forward and I enjoyed this task.

Linear Equations

Today I taught myself how to do Linear equations. I'd seen things like this in my sisters maths books. So I decided why not learn to solve them myself. With the help of many online sources I managed to figure out how to do it. I still need to practice and there is a lot more of this stuff that I can learn but I think I've made a good start!

Before I Forget 2.0

Today we had maths and in maths we recapped on the things we had learnt earlier in the year. We did a kahoot and answered questions. It was a lot of fun, looking forward to doing more!

Sharing Lollies

Today we did a dmic.It was a lot of fun cause we got lollies near the ending. We had to solve the question next to us, the equation was 12 divided by 4. To do this we had to cut the 12cm licorice lace into 4 equal pieces. Each licorice lace would be 3cms.

After that 2 more people came along meaning that we had to cut the licorice lace into 6 equal pieces. But it had already been cut into 3cm quarters. To solve this question, I cut the 3 cm quarters into thirds so each person got 2 thirds of the quarters meaning the 6 people got 1/6 or 2/12.

Fabulous Fractions

Today we did we did more fractions there was a slide deck for 3 levels in which I choose to do the hardest. It wasn't too hard mostly because we had done this last year as well. We also did a dmic question about equivalent fractions.

Fractions Level 3

Today we looked at fractions. We had to answer the workout and answer the questions on the slides. I actually struggled a little bit near the end but, I just need to practice it some more. Looking forward to doing more!

Fractions Level 2.3

This week we looked at fractions once again. Near the ending we looked at turning fractions into decimals. It was pretty easy and a good recap of most of the things last year. I am however ready to learn more about fractions and decimals.

Fraction Level 2.2

Today we looked at more fractions. This time we went to the next level and looked at harder fractions. We looked at adding and subtracting fractions with different denominators using equivalent fractions. I did get a bit stuck on the last ones, but after giving it some more thought it didn't seem as hard. These slides definitely took more time than yesterday's though.

Fraction Level 2

Today, we looked at fractions. We got into 2 groups and worked on fractions. We added fractions and later looked at improper fractions. Near the ending we had to split a packet of M&M's into fractions of 16 which we later simplified. I quite like using fractions last year Ms Stone helped me increase my knowledge on fractions a lot so it wasn't as tricky this time.

Testing Transformation

Today we looked at Transformations, this time we looked at rotation reflection and translate. I definitely had some trouble getting confused with translation, but I feel like I will get used to it over time. It was definitely good to recap this, because we did similar stuff to this last year. Looking forward to doing more :)

Terrific Transformation

Today we looked at Terrific Transformations. Transformations include enlargement, reflection, rotation. We looked at each one of these and we also looked at symmetry. This task was decent, but I did have some trouble with order of symmetry. :)

Great Geometry

Today we did more geomtry, we made our own figures and looked at them from different angles. We also looked at < which talks about less than and greater than. I was really easy and pretty straight forward.
