Georges Seurat

Today we learnt about the French Artist Georges Seurat. He lived a 'comfortable life' in France in 1859-1891. We learnt about the technique he used to create the many wonderful pieces of art. I found it most interesting that he never mixed paints but instead chose to let out eyes mix the paints, when he painted his paintings with small dots and dashes super close together.

A Special Place

Pt England is a very special place, it is special to me at least. From the sports teams Miss Va,a fusuanga organizes to the productions from Mr Jacobsen puts on our school does a lot of crazy fun things. Today’s writing introduces why I think Pt England is a special place, read on to find out more.

P.E.N.N is put on by our talented year 5-8 students and is watched by the whole school at some point during the day.  The real reason we even have P.E.N.N is because of Mrs Lagitupu, she come to school every morning opens up the creative space and lets most of her P.E.N.N crew in. Soon after Mrs Lagitupu gets to work on the script for the presenters, I have been a P.E.N.N Presenter many times so I know how this goes. Anyways we bring in the, might I add ancient screen, and we start setting up the tripod camera and microphone. After the crew has rehearsed we start to film, once finished filming it’s time to edit and finally publish into the students room folder for the teachers in class to find and show to the children of the school. So that how P.E.N.N gets made and is one of the many special things at Point England Next one.

The Next cool thing about Point England school is that we have loads of camps, some on our school field and some in another island. But wherever they are the teachers work hard to make sure the children are having fun. The first camp you have in your life at school is in year 5 you get to spend a few days eating sleeping and doing fun things at school. You sleep in a tent on our school field and before you even go on camp your teacher are freaking out about your permission slip your gear your camp payments and groups camp items and activities they hardly get enough rest at all. So when the kids are at camp they make sure they a doing the right things being grateful and try to give their teachers a break.

The the third great thing about Point England is the sports. We have some really great teams sports and coaches. Our school has tons of sports teams Netball, Rugby, Softball Volleyball, Hockey, and the person behind it is Miss Va,a fusuaga and her team of helpful Coaches and Managers. People in famous sports teams that use to come to Point England school along time ago. We even have a bunch of player who haven’t be recognized yet but don’t you worry they will have their time to shine.

The last Amazing thing I want to tell you about is our productions. Here at Point  England every 2 years we have our very own productions. When I was in year five the production was live stream it about animals who have such a polluted creek they needed to find a new home and that’s they set off to do. I auditioned and got to be a pink salmon I got to sing dance and act it was really fun doing dress rehearsals and singing songs. I was also a palm tree to was so calming doing the dancing and the headdresses were amazing. Mr Jacobsen and a bunch of other teachers had out done themselves making sure everything was perfect, in the end seeing everything come together itself really made it seem like magic.

Another spectacular thing about Point England is that it  encourages what every the students want to do when there older. Our school also give us lots of learning opportunities like the Epro8 and the feeding eels. Whether it engineering singing or acting our teacher encourage us to do what we love best. I want to be a doctor and I because of our amazing teachers I don’t think that it will be a problem at all I have to do is work hard.

So that if some of the many amazing things at Point England School. As you can see we are all hard working caring student and we like to try our best no matter what. I think that our school is very amazing and thanks to this writing I hope you do too!

Summary: If I had to sum up this it was pretty good the only thing was I needed to improve was the amont of time I spent writing and the amount of time I spent proof reading. The buddy I shared it with was Marika and she said I just need to do a few things to fix up my writing otherwise it was really good.

The Thing I want to do next time is that I want to get the writing done faster cause last time I didn't get time finish and proof read all of it but I think that I did do well.

Book Review

Louge Or Bedroom

Which do you prefer a tv in your lounge or your bedroom? Mrs Telea just got a new flat screen and hasn’t decided where to put it, she is debating on either her lounge or her bedroom. In this writing I am explaining where I think her tv should go, read on to find out more.

I honestly think that the tv should go in the lounge. It’s better when you watch a movie together with your family or families. I mean when you have friends and family over you probably want to sit in the lounge and talk maybe watch a movie together. It will be a lot more efficient especially if you don’t keep your room tidy.

The Second reason the tv should be in the lounge is because you don’t want people coming into your room at the wrong times. You don’t want people coming into your room when your sleeping or doing important work. For example when someone wants to watch their favourite show they will most likely come into your room, as an excuse they will just say there isn’t a tv in the lounge.

Another Reason I think lounge being the best place to put the tv is because it’s hard when you share a room with someone. Sharing a room is not easy you have conflict almost all the time,I speak from experience. Imagine the sibling you share your room with is a night owl they will stay up watching tv and when you try falling asleep it will be impossible.

The last reason I think the tv should go into the lounge room is because you will most likely get addicted. By that I mean if you have a tv in your room you will most likely never want to leave your room, you will always want 5 more minutes which usually go on for an hour. If you don’t leave your room you probably won’t do much housework and much work for school. It also means that you would eat a lot of junk food, when you watch movies you probably love to eat popcorn chips and drink fizzy.

In conclusion you should have your tv in your lounge cause you won’t get to attached. You will have the right amount of sleep and you probably have another way of hiding your extremely messy room. So here is what I think, but if you decide to chose your room remember these things.

Favourite Things About P.E.S

Hello welcome to this piece of writing I hope you will enjoy. At Pt England School we do a lot of amazing things, and today I will be telling 4 different things I like to do at P.E.S! Read on to find out more.

The first favourite thing I like to do at Pt England school is feed our long finned eels. Last year in july we got a bunch of long finned eels, they are very aggressive and we have learned heap from them. On the first day we had a professional person come his name was dave he brought the eels put them in and even made sure that the eels had the right type of water to swim in. I was super inspired so I went home that night and wrote a presentation about eels I even drew a picture, and it got read and a few months later I go to do a speech in front of the whole school. So that’s one of the things I enjoy doing at Pt England School!

The Second Thing I enjoy doing is helping do jobs around the school. It make me feel like I am apart of this school, it also make me feel like nice and happy that I can always help out and around the school. Being at Point England School means you get a lot of opportunities and I will never miss an opportunity to enhance my future career.

The Third favourite thing I like at Pt England is doing the Robotics Rōpu. In Robotics Rōpu we are helping solve a miniature pollution problem. Our school has started a bincurity project and the problem is that bincurity our recycling team needs help compressing soft plastic. They usually do it with their hands and push it down, but it isn't very hygienic so we are coming up with a solution. That's what we help do on Wednesday Lunchtimes. I like Robotics because we get to create and learn with the engineers from fisher & Paykel healthcare. That’s my third favourite things to do at Pt England School.

My fourth favourite thing to do at Pt England is Extension. At Extension learn about a variety of things it is really fun, I enjoy expanding my learning, and creating something to share with other in the end. In Extension we learn we create and we also share, we have fun trips like going to gravity and kpmg. I our extension group is made up of about 18 students and Mrs Lagitupu, our amazing teacher she Encourages, inspires and pushes us to do our very best and show our true potential all the time. That’s one of the many reasons I enjoy going to Extension, at Point England School!

Be A Good Role Model

Welcome to my writing, it’s really cool to know that you want to be a good role model. Today I will be explaining to you what it means to be a good role model and how you can become one, this will be helpful when you are in intermediate. You have come to the right place!

Being a good role model can be easy you just have to put your mind to it. Being a good role model includes think like listening and Co-operating. You can be a good role model by showing your group how to act by doing it. For example you need to stop talking and you have been chatting away a good role model will notice and start listening, and the other will notice and stop talking.

Being a good role model also includes helping out and listening to each other. It mean that when you are in a group make sure you are taking turns, including each other and think about each others ideas. It also mean you should be considerate of other groups. You should also try each others ideas out and if you disagree, don’t be mean about it. This can also be included when you are making decisions with your friends.

Being a good role model is by doing you work and listening to your teacher it also mean that you should work hard and try your best. If you try to do your best you should be willing to take risks and trying new things it also mean that you are trying to stay positive and working together with others. I think that you also try to encourage other to do things they like and not be embarrassed you can help them out if you don’t think you're up for the task.

A good role model can take charge when needed they are afraid to admit there wrong and takes the blame instead of making excuses. For example you want to take a long way to school and you end up being late you shouldn’t blame it on your friends and family you should take the blame and deal with it. You should also take charge when nobody decides and are unsure even if you aren’t sure you can help decide or at least take charge and seek help.

So there you have four ideas of how to become a great role model. It’s not that hard stick to theses rules and soon we can be role model together. I hope these Ideas will help you and you would like more let me know if you do. I also want to say that these easy rule and ideas will help you also learn the point england way which is what we are practicing this term.
