Hi Zaeeda,
ReplyDeleteI love the picture that you have included today in your blog about the brown kiwi bird. I have only ever seen one kiwi bird in 'real life' and it was at the Auckland zoo. I often wonder what it would be like to see a real kiwi bird in the wild. Given that they are nocturnal animals who only come out at night time, it is unlikely that we will see a kiwi anytime soon.
As you write in your blog post, it is also unlikely that we will see a kiwi bird because they are rapidly decreasing in number. It is very concerning as there may come a time when all of the kiwi birds have been killed by predators (or by other causes such as illness or starvation) and we will be without the beautiful brown kiwi. I hope that we are able to come together and find a way to protect this special, native animal...
Do you have any ideas for things that we could do to protect kiwi birds? If so, I'd love to hear them!
Cheers,
Rachel
