It was a cold morning, and the streets of Chicago were quiet. No one had ventured out of their homes. Everyone was still in bed. Except for Mr Goodwin. He was late. Late for his conference!
As he ran down the street he dropped his cappuccino and it fell splat on the pavement outside his hotel. He picked up the cup and looked inside the almost empty cup was still wet and now growing cold. He said to himself “I am so late” as he threw it into the trash. He then tried to signal a taxi but it was so busy that whenever he put his hand out it would nearly hit with the top of a car. He decided to give up. Mr Goodwin Miserably started towards the conference. He walked at a decent pace as he looked around, “I need another cup of coffee” he said to himself.
He walked until his curious mind brought him to a nearby alley he stood on the pavement looking at all the trash and graffiti on the walls he was about to keep walking when a slim cat with only on eye and no tail she was rubbing herself on his leg. He kicked it away hoping it would but instead, it backfired a whole lot of alley cat started Meowing and purring it was like a cat orchestra. Just as Mr Goodwin started to back away they pronounced which made Mr Goodwin high tail out of there.
Mr Goodwin had just disoriented them he was standing right outside the office for his conference. He had just arrived when he saw Mr Burt and Mr Jacobson walking out of the office chatting away taking small sips from there steaming hot coffee.” NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO” Mr Goodwin yelled at the sky falling to his knees before he fainted. “What’s up with him” Mr Burt asked affectionately.
They caught a cab back to the hotel and they waited for Mr Goodwin to wake up they waited all afternoon and all night when finally Mr Jacobson got a brilliant Idea as always “ Maybe the sent of coffee would wake him up’’ Mr Jacobson said to Mr Burt “ It’s worth a try” he replied back. They waved a cup of coffee under Mr Goodwin’s nose “wh wha where am I” he stuttered waking up deliberately. Instantaneously Mr Goodwin stood up the conference I am late he grabbed his bag and rushed out the door with Mr Burt and Mr Jacobson not far behind him.
“STOP STOP” Mr Jacobson and Mr Burt said together stopping Mr Goodwin dead in his tracks, “let’s go back to the hotel and we can tell you both about it” they said again Mr Goodwin with a blunt expression. Back at the hotel they sat Mr Goodwin down with a cup of coffee and asked him how his day was which was pretty terrible, then they told him that the conference was not today it was tomorrow. Mr Goodwin Stared at them wide eyed discombobulated and Astonished, he then started to chuckle it go louder and louder and then Mr Burt and Mr Jacobson joined in.
