Holiday Blogging 10

  1. Kia ora Zaeeda,

It is pretty amazing to think that so many whales accidentally swam into the shallow waters around Farewell Spit and ended up getting stuck (beached). It must have been pretty scary for them. Fortunately, the local people were able to spring into action by putting their wet towels on the backs of the whales and pouring buckets worth of water over their backs. I find it really inspiring to see people doing what they can to help others, particularly, when they are innocent animals.

Speaking of animals, do you have a favourite animal, Zaeeda? I really love dogs. In fact, my sister has a golden retriever named Gilmore who I just adore. He is really big and cuddly. Unfortunately, he is also very curious and he likes to eat everything that he comes across (including shoes)! I was talking to Leigh the other day and she told me that Gilmore had eaten her favourite pair of shoes. She was not impressed!

I hope that you are having a nice day and that you'll continue to blog with us over the coming week. There is another full week of holidays and the Winter Learning Journey programme will be open every day!

    Cheers,
    Rachel
