Triangle Numbers ~Maths~

Today worked together in groups of 3, and discovered number and patterns in a triangle. It was fun, and got all of us thinking. We did have some trouble at some point, but after looking at it and trying again, we did get the hang of it.

We used marker to color shade in the different patterns, we found. Many other groups found different patterns and rules. We also looked at how we see patterns like this everywhere in our everyday lives, with out realizing it, which is really cool and fascinating.

Sharing back was fun, lots of the other groups shared different unique ways to find the same pattern and the same rules. We also looked a little in to algebra while we were at it.

Overall I feel like this was a fun math lesson and am enjoying math so far. I can't wait to continue learning more about Triangles and can't wait to go deeper in to learning about how we see math in our everyday lives.

2019 Maths

This year I really enjoyed maths and learnt heaps. A few days ago we did our maths test and our result were very good. Alot of us have improved heaps and today I am telling you what I have and need to improve on.

Well I have improved on my statistics and algrebra skill and the mark I go in my test shows that I did well on these, things. I did enjoyed answering these questions. We have been doing some algebra in class lately and back in term 2 we did statistics and I enjoyed doing those task and hoped we did more.


I do need to improve on my geomrty not meaning that I am terrible at it just meaning I need to work on it. I did get stuck one or to times in my test but this is just one of the things that we haven't covered in class yet. But i'm still going to try and improve on this subject.

Pythagoros Therom!

This week in maths we learnt about the Pythagoros Therom. It's when you use the add together two sides of a rectangle after they are squared and then find the sqaure root of that answer to find the hypotanues of a right angle triangle.

When we finsihed we had to do a task where we had to show how the sqaure and triangles can be rearranged to make another shape.

 This was a way to prove the Pythagoros Thereom. I like this task I did it twice one with Eden and again with Pisi. It was really fun and I did find it interesting!

This week in maths we have started using fractions. This task was a dmic problem we had done and as a result me and Pisi worked together and made a poster showing what we did. We ended up finding out more than we thought. One thing hthat I learnt about this was that you must understand the question well before going to solve it as it may affect you answer and the way you solve the question. You should also try and talk about this qeustions and try all the options before deciding on things!

Overall we I think that this task was interesting and takes some deep thinking. I also think it's a fun way to share work and think about food!
