Zaeeda-SLJ-#11

Dear Readers welcome back to another day of the Summer Learning Journey, Enjoy!

Activity 1: Togs or Trackies

The Season I think would be the best for tourist to vist New Zealand Summer because in winter you can't do much because if it rains in winter here in New Zealand it stay for a while.

But If you come in summer it's nice and hot and much easier to travel because you don't have to worry about small problems like kids getting sick and stuff like that.

One place I suggest going to is the Waitomo caves I have been there recently but it was freezing and I work 6 layers and one was really really big. But go there in summer it would be much warmer and you wouldn't have to worry about it raining.

You Could also learn about Glow Worms

The Next Site I suggest you visit would be the Auckland Botanic garden. I went there in term 3 with my friend Te rangi Marie we saw alsorts of cool plants and lakes and it was so peaceful and I enjoyed it heaps the only thing was that there were some puddles in the grass and it was really muddy because it had been raining really bad.

Another place I suggest going is Rainbows End because it is full of rides you and you whole family will enjoy you can go there during the day when its hot and sunny or at night when it's nice and cool either way it would be lot's of fun.

But if you go in the rain most of the rides are outside only the food court is inside and I am pretty sure no one wants to stay inside at the food court when they could be enjoying some really cool ride outside.

So those are the 3 places I would go if I was a tourist and I think that each of those places would be a great place to go. But it is fun to just stay home and relax sometimes.

Activity 2: You Are My Sunshine

I think that it is very important to not get sunburnt or stay in the sun to long because it can cause skin cancer so I am sharing Five ways I would protect myself from the sun. So these are the ways I would protect myself from the sun you should also make sure you are staying hydrated.

1. Were a hat the floppy type are really good because they work like a shade

2. Put on sun block but make sure you check the Ingredients

3. We sunglasses not all sunglass work so make sure you check the label for sun protecting

4. Stay in the shade sometimes when it's really sunny and you have been in the sun to long slip under a nice cool tree

5. You could also were you clothes to protect you skin although it maybe to hot for it.

Activity 3: Burning Up....

Here is the graph I made I did have some trouble but I found the answer in the end here are some countries and how high some of there tempratures can get.

I hope you enjoyed and I can't wait to see you next year and I would like to wish you all a HAPPY NEW YEAR

Zaeeda-SLJ-#10

Welcome back to another day of the summer learning journey lets get started.

Activity 1: Off The Menu

We have done quite alot of this in school in the beggining of the year it was quite fun I enjoyed it. Anyways I think that this rule is kind of unfair because you wouldn't be allowed to take enough fish for you whole family but it is goood because it's made to help preserve fish for the future so I think we should try and preserve fish for the future because it is very serious to look after our sealife even if it means you have to eat less fish.

Activity 2: The Black Drain

Alot of rivers and waterways are polluted here in New Zealand the 2 rivers I picked were Rumahunga and Manawata.

1. Rumahunga river goes through the southeastern of the North Island in New Zealand but sadly it has now come very polluted and we need to do something about it. The River has become polluted due to Sewage and farming, it prevents people swimming in it and the river moving into a larger river or lake.

2.  The Manawata river is highly polluted and this is mostly due to Dairy farming and the towns sewage. We need to do something about this because this can become a terrible threat to the other areas around the place. This river is located in around the  North Island.

As you can see there is rubbish polluting alot of river there are heaps more I could write about but it maybe go on for ever. Anyways I would like to say that this rubbish wasn't always there and some of it may have floated in so we should make sure that the rubbish isn't there to float into our water ways.

Activity 3: Faded Glory

1. If I had to funraise to help the barrier reef I would help by doing some like the 40 hour famine we do the it at school every year to help raise money for kids in South Sudan. I think that it is very cool but I am not aloud to do it.

2. We could also sell lemonade and have school discos and raise money like that to help the great barrier reef it would be a good idea because some schools have been focusing on the enviroment.

3. find something you enjoy and want to share like music you could sing songs on the street and sure enough people with toss you a coin or something and if your a kid chores help raise money too.

So that is all for today I hope you enjoyed

I would'nt go on the helicopter because I am afraid of heights and boat make be nervous so yeah. I would enjoy exploring Milford sound because it sound like a wonderful tourist destination and I think that seeing it in person sound wonderful and we can get in some exercise

So That is why I would go on foot.

Activity 2: It's All in the Name

I have pick 5 names and I think that they are quite weird and creative just like the Geothermal pool.

1. Earth Meets Mars

2.  The Natural Unatural *

3.  Troll Boggers

4.  Green, Gorgeous and Geothermal

5.  Foul Fondue

Activity 3: Picture Perfect

Here is what I think is happening in the Selfie #3

A few Tourist we walking down a wonderful city. Everyone was in aw of how beautiful the city look they snapped picture along the way. They kept walking until they came across a beautiful veiw they stopped there and took a break. The guide talke about what this place and how long ago it was built but no one was really paying attention they were just taking photos. The breath taking veiw was beautiful the gleaming water the joyful town they just had to take a photo. So while everyone was taking picture with there friends and family one lady was looking for someone to take photo of her. After failing to find some one willing to do it she decided to take it herself. She climbs up on the wall everyone looks at her in panic while the tourist guide try to tell her not to She doesn't listen. She looks for the perfect angle but starts to loose her balance so she quickly snaps the photo and jumps down to safe ground. Sadly the picture was blurry oh well maybe next time.

The Mural of the story is watch were you take Selfies ;)

So that's all for today I hope you enjoyed!

Well come to the 2 second day of week to of the summer learning journey today.

Activity 1: Weaving a tale

If I could weave I definetly would we have done quite a bit on Harkeke (flax last year in term 2 we learnt about what you can make out of it. Harkeke definetly think Harkeke is a very interesting plant it is super strong and at school when we play games we sometime use it to tie thing to trees and we use it to decorate. Yes Harkeke is something very cool and to think that some of our ancestores you this as some of there resources pretty interesting.

Activity 2: Mighty Man Groves

The person I think is not really a real person it Hulk Smash. He is very strong and tough he can lift up cars and smash them as well. There is a movie and 2 years ago a few of us learnt about hulk smash and wonder woman.
I think hulk is tough and strong because he has some really big muscles and he is also very big and brave but he doesn't have much brains as fas as I know.
Image Atrribution

Activity 3: Stranger and Fiction

The 2 plants I picked are Venus Fly Trap and  Pitcher Plant.

Zaeeda-SLJ-#5

Dear reader it's day five of the Summer Learning Journey here are my activties.

Activty 1: Towering Timbers

It is so sad that there is logging happening in New Zealand. I think that we should prevent logging from happening because when people log they hurst our native trees and animals such as the Kiwi, Long finned Eel, and Tuatara and many more. We should look for another way to generate heat power E.g

I think that logging sucks the life out of all the other plants around the area and the more logging that happens the more greedy people get and they forget about the inhabtants of the land they are destroying

Here are the reasons I think we shouldn't log in New Zealand.

1. logging means deforestation and can have a major effect on the enviroment it can be so bad that it mean millions of animal speice lose there home. Forest only cover about 30 percent of the worlds land but forests half the size of England are lost every year due to deforestation.

2. Deforstation also drives climate change which as you know is a serious threat to or icy sea creatures. Soil is moist and if without the trees blocking the sun they will quickly dryout. Tree also help out water cycle by changing it and sending water vapor back into the atmosphere.

Trees help us alot and we should help them and all we are doing now is being greedy so let's help the enviroment!

Thats all for activity 1

Activty 2: Living on the Edge

Here is my letter to my trip to Tundra

Activty 3: Going Going ... Gone

Dear reader here is what I would like you to know about New Zealand in 2018. 2018 has been a good year in auckland we have had more and more house built espacially we I live and we are becoming bigger and bigger our techonogly has grown and so has most of our education. I am gonna start from the begging of the year.

This year my school has done alot last year we started saving the enviroment but it wasn't enough this year we took recycling to a whole new level and not just that we are helping presevre long finned eels for the future. We started bincurity recycling crew and a robotics ropu and we got help from engineers from fisher and paykel healthycare. We have had a great year at Pt England School.

Auckland housing problem is not as big as last year we also got a new prime minister Jacinda Arden. It's been a really great year and if something happens I want whoever is reading this that I am very proud of 2018!

I think that Jacinda Arden has been doing a good job and she is a new prime minster so we should give her a break and get use to the job, Instead of putting more pressure on her and doing things like that.

That's is for today. The next time I will be posting will be Next week!
