2019 Maths
This year I really enjoyed maths and learnt heaps. A few days ago we did our maths test and our result were very good. Alot of us have improved heaps and today I am telling you what I have and need to improve on.
Well I have improved on my statistics and algrebra skill and the mark I go in my test shows that I did well on these, things. I did enjoyed answering these questions. We have been doing some algebra in class lately and back in term 2 we did statistics and I enjoyed doing those task and hoped we did more.
I do need to improve on my geomrty not meaning that I am terrible at it just meaning I need to work on it. I did get stuck one or to times in my test but this is just one of the things that we haven't covered in class yet. But i'm still going to try and improve on this subject.

Global Warming Is A Problem
The earth has many problems. Most of them caused by humans, but there is one problem that was beyond the homosapines reach. Global warming, a large international problem that is getting worse day by day. Global warming is a problem and that’s today's topic!
Let’s begin with one of the most obvious reasons, the children's future. Taking the children's point of view, they can’t do much except get educated on the topic of global warming. So it’s up to adults and the ‘’powerful people’’ to do something, children have no say or insurance that they will get a better future even the future that lies ahead of you, is unsure at this point!
Which leads to my second reason, it’s not just the children getting affected it’s the bigger people too. Global warming is a huge problem, in economy. This is because “powerful people” have addressed the problem by increasing prices on items that have an affect on global warming, or sources that are being eradicated due to usage. Thus leading to a large circle of endless problems, the “powerful people” need to look at the bigger picture, and think about everyone.
Lastly, the effects of global warming are happening faster and are getting much worse. So the whole world, is starting to crumble. The ozone layer being extracted, the uv light from the sun is getting hotter, etc. The world needs help and it’s up to the human race. They need to stop adding to the problem, and start taking actions and precautions, working together and making a difference.
So that concludes today’s topic. I know it’s a large problem and I have said it multiple times, and this is because what I am saying it fiction but a fact. Global warming is a large problem, and I may not have the answer to it but I do know we have to do something and fast. Global warming will continue and get worse, if you love your family and your friends should try and create a better future for EVERYONE!
A Good Daughter
A good daughter, something all parents want. Someone who is reliable, respectful, responsible all key qualities for being a good daughter. Here are three things that make a good daughter. All of these are true coming from a good daughter like myself, who can speak from experience.
Firstly all daughters should be reliable. All parents should be able to rely on their daughter to finish up any chores left in the house, or outside the house. For example, me and my sisters do a lot of after school activities thus leading to the fact that my parents are always needing to leave the house halfway through any situation, like chores and running errands. But, being that the great daughter they are, it would be their obligation as a good daughter to finish up anything that is left.
Responsible, all good daughters are responsible. Not only for their jobs but for themselves and the people around them. Any good daughter is responsible daughter because, they regularly take care of their younger sibling. Occasionally I take care of my older siblings too!
Lastly, all good daughters are respectful to everyone. They should be able to respectfully tell their elders things and use their manners at all times. Occasionally they may need to point out to their family and people surrounding you that they are not being very respectful. We all know the phrase “ to receive the respect you need to show respect”, and that’s exactly what applies now too!
I feel that daughters are an important part of society, especially when being a good one. This is why being reliable, responsible and respectful at all times is important when aiming to be a good daughter. So do you think you’d make a good daughter?

A Good Leader
A leader, a person who leads the way as an example for others to follow. Leaders are sometimes people who are characterised understanding, courageous and understanding. Allow me to explain to you the amazing qualities of a leader.
Firstly, every good leader has to be committed. Committed to their task and their team, someone who is willing to persevere and finish their task. As an example Jacinida Adren, she is commited to make New Zealand a better place. She is doing a very good job at it indeed!
Secondly, a good leader, is courageous. Someone that is not afraid to take risks, when it’s necessary. Greta Thunberg is a well known example of this, as she is someone who gather up the courage to speak up and share her opinion. She has made a large impact on the audience listening to her, all because she had the courage to do so.
Lastly, all great leaders are understanding. Understanding about everything, it maybe a personal issue of a team member or a circumstance of the team. Richy Makwe lead the all black to an amazing victory in the 2015 World Cup, because he was an understanding leader. Richy Makwe had a good understanding of the all black's strengths and weaknesses so he made the game play so that the team will play at their best.
So there we have it, three valid things all good leader should have. As you can see, Jacinda Adern, Greta Thunberg and Richy Mawke are all great and aspiring leaders and I think they have all three of these very good quality. So do you have what it takes to make a good leader?

Cheek Cells
Today in room 5 for geonomics we looked at cheek cells. This doesn't relate to our term wide theme it's just because we didn't finished the geonomics from last term so we have been continuing it this term.
We examined the cells in our cheek by, collect a sample of the saliva on our our cheek. Then applying a stain that makes it more visible. After staining it we put it under a Microscope and examined it.
I didn't expect it to look like what it did look like but I did wish we could get a closer look at it to see if the cells have the same thing as any normal cell.
But overall I did enjoy this task, I also hope we use the microscope more often and for other things. But next time I want to look at a plant cell or the cell inside fruit.

Sqaures and Triangles
It's term 4 meaning that we are going to be test. In order to get us ready for the test, Mrs Stone had us revise the work we have done this year. She gave us a document with all the things we went over this year and it was our job to answer it. If along the way we needed a recap on those things, then she will do a work shop on it for us. It wasn't too hard and I feel test ready now, I found this really helpful and think we it would be helpful to do something like this before all tests. As a result I made this poster with some reminders to the two things I got stuck on!

Term 4 Immersion Assembly
This morning we had our term 4 immersion assembly at Pt England school. Our theme was Life’s a stage, our teachers put on quite a show to inform and prompt students to be excited about this term. All of us students enjoyed it, read on to find out more!
I walked into school this morning and found our team 5 teachers all dressed up. They were dancing to a song. I didn’t know what to expect, I could only wait and see. After practicing for a while our teachers stopped dancing and let us into class.
Time passed and it was time to go to the hall to our immersion assembly. We lined up walked to the hall and sat down, then Mr Burt spoke. He explained the theme and made us repeat the theme for the term a couple of times. Then Mr Burt, Mr Jacobsen, Mr Somerville and Mrs Tele’a sang a song that told a story. After that it was time for the items that belong to each team!
Team 1 was a remake of Cinderella, except this time the story was that anyone can sing, dance and act. Team 2 did a dance routine and it had some pretty weird dancing, at least half of it was a dinosaur song. Team 3 was third, their movie was different scenarios and they sing and dance too explain it. Team 4’s item was an interview with a couple of characters from toy shop our school production, of course it wasn’t the student version of the characters it was the teachers dressed up!
The last item and might I add my favourite item, was from team 5. Remember when I walked into school and I found my teachers dressed up and dancing. Well they were preparing to dance to different genres of songs. This was because this term in team 5 we are going to learn about different genres of music and dance. I think the teachers expressed this well through a wonderful performance. I can’t wait to learn more this term!
So in conclusion I think that this term is going to be full of surprises. I can’t wait to jump into a term full of having fun with friends and working together to learn, create and share. This is just an example to show that this term is going to be a heck of a ride.
