Rewriting Homework
Rewriting
Why do teachers give us homework! Are the 6 and a half hours we spend at school mostly doing work not enough. I hate homework cause there's many other things I would rather be doing, don’t the teachers know we had a life outside school. We also get too much of it , I always wish that I would never have to do homework again.
Homework is terrible. I hate homework. I work pretty hard in school and so don’t know why I have to do so much, too. There is other stuff I’d rather do than homework. I wish we never have to do it anymore.
Task Description: Hello today we had to rewrite a this paragraph. We had to make it more interesting and more hooking for our reader. I think this is a much better improvement then before I hope you enjoyed!

I Like Your Latitude
Hello Veiwers today we had our term 2 immersion assembly after our long two week holiday. I had quite alot of fun during the holidays, incase you didn't know me and my family went to the very top of the North Island in New Zealand. I did some blogging too so check it out!
Anyways we had our Immersion assembly today and our topic for the term is I like Your Latitude. It's about navigation and thing like that. As usual each team shared there topic for the term they were all different and uniquie. Here are all the team items!
Team 1 had a movie, it started with the school in the future and instead of fruit like apples and bananas they had fruit that came in packets and looked like crackers. They talked about how fruit has changed and there are less fruit in the world and the fruit that they do have is very very expensive. Some point during the video they talked about why the fruit was decreasing, that is because bees are decreasing. Bees help make many fruit and cause they are decreasing fruit and other things are decreasing. The video talked about this association that is helping save the bees, and when and why bees are decreasing.
Team 2 talked about finding there way. They had a video about an easter hunt they had last term and what they did to find it. Team 2 said that they had to look up, look down, look left, right and all around. They did interveiw and showed us how many eggs they found together. They also talked about how they were gonna look deeper into this and maybe even hide there own treasure and give instructions to there friends to find it.
Team 3's video talked about pick a path and stories where you go to pick what happened next. They gave a short example where Miss Scanlan chose her journey/Adventure to school. Team 3 was going to be picking there own paths what they are going to learn about and stuff.
Team 4 had a video where the teachers have lose the ability to use google maps and they have to use a compas and map to make it back to school for there staff meeting with Mr Goodwin. The teachers have quite an adventures they got lost but eventually found there way back to school. At school they were very happy about what Mr Goodwin made them do and in return they made Mr Goodwin try to get home without google maps.
Team 5 focused on traveling around the world and all the continentes. Mrs Tapuke wanted to travel around the world with her family and so she came to the virtual travel agency to get help. She had a safars at africa, experiecnce going to disney land at North America and went to Paris in Europe. The other teachers took turn talking and teaching Mrs Tapuke about each place.
My Favourite Movie was the last movie from Mr Vogt, Ms Lagitupu and Ms Va,afusuanga. There movie was about traveling and what emergencies that they have to take care of. Mr Vogt has to save the school from a peice of pollution that could lead to a virus. Mrs Lagitupu had to use her amazing computer skills to save the world from hacking. Mrs Va,afusuanga had to use her amazing ability to run very fast and save the world from a meteorite.
Overall I think that it's going to be a great term and I can't wait. I am excited for everything that's going to happen this term and even the things we are going to do. Our animation even sound really interesting. I can't wait I am go to keep you updated by posting once a day enjoy!

Career Talk
Hi there, today after morning tea we had 3 people come and talk to us about there careers. The thing that was quite funny was the fact that they we some how related to Mrs Tele'a. The people that came were Tanielu Tele'a, Fiona Bakulich, Jason Young. This is because we are learning about ourselves and family and our past present and future and in the future in we are going to have careers so that's what the 3 people talked about.
Jason Young is a builder, he is friends with Mr Tele'a. He came to Pt England quite a few years ago, he talked to us about following our passion and setting a goal but also trying out new things everyday. Jason told us that when he was at Point England and the school was so different and where he was standing now use to be a dental clinic. We asked him a few questions like about his life and things he faced during life.
The second person was Fiona Bakulich she is Mrs Tele'a's sister. They grew up and spent most of there lives in Mangere, they went to school there and lived there so that was there local community. For Fiona's career she decided to take up funeral directing like her parents. Fiona told us about how she used to help with bodies of loved ones and do things like that and learnt not to be scared and just doing it with love and respect for the families. Fiona told us that she finish college or university. She decided on becoming a funeral director because that's what her parent did and she didn't want her parents working to hard and to many hours so she did it for her family.
The last person to talk to us was Tanielu Tele'a, the son of Mrs Tele'a and also a blues player. Tanielu once came to Point England school he told us that he loved playing sport at lunch and doing work in class. We asked hime loads of questions about his career what he want to do in the future and how he felt about becoming a blues player. He also gave us advice to love our parents and take the advice they gives us.
After they were all done we said thank you and gave them a present and we moved off to our classes. Overall I had loads of fun and will definetly take this advice and try to see how I can do this in my everyday life. I am really thankful to her about other peoples experience and also the challenges they faced.

Our Trip To K.P.M.G
Today the Extension group when to K.P.M.G with a few members of team 5. We were lucky enough to have Ms Flavelle, Mrs Mcmillan and Mrs Lagitupu take us, they made sure we had everything and we were ready to introduce ourselves be polite and everything. They made sure that everything was orginized and that we had a fun trip. Here is a brief recount of what we did and what happened, Enjoy!
We started the morning by meeting in Creative space, while we waited for everyone to arrive we practiced our waiata and watched some youtube. After a while we boared a bus and were off to K.P.M.G on the way there I sat with Eden and we played this game where your supposed to wave at someone and when they wave back you get a point. It's quite fun Amira joined in after a while too, as the bus drove down the busy rodes of Glen innes to the city we cross loads of roads I am fimilair with we even crossed my sister college.
After what felt like forever we finally arrived at K.P.M.G as we arrived we saw friendly people welcome us. They high fived smiled and even said hello. I noticed that most of the year 8's recognized the people and we super excited, I was kind of nervous and didn't know what to expect as it's was my first time going there. But after everyone introduced themselves I felt more calm and relaxed I sat next to a women named Louis she is very friendly energetic kind and she is from Scotland. Louis and a few other staff gave us a tour of the building and where they worked it was really fasinating and quite suprising too.
We also met a bunch of other people including a man name Martin. He talked and walked us through a presentation about staying healthy, he covered everthing from the staying fit physically and mentally. Along the way Martin got us to do fun team building experiences like real food quizzes and making name tags. There was this one exercise were we had to drop without using our hands and then get back up without using our hands too. I did it once without the video and Martin got me to be the example and show the group.
K.P.M.G also gave us an amazing morning tea, there were fruit kebabs with pineapple and melons and scones with butter. There was also green tea and I love green tea, Pisi even made me one even though I didn't ask her too that was nice of her. We had morning tea outdoors by what looked like the side of K.P.M.G, it was really nice and had a great view.
We came back inside and Martin told us about a different part of staying healthy. He talked about sleep and thing that could distrupt it, and why we should get more sleep. Martin also talked about going outside and getting sunlight, we talked about way the sun benifits us and what can happen when we have to much and ways to protect ourselves. We did more activities and talked about more things and time really flew cause we were having so much fun and it was time for lunch.
The first thing we did was go and wash up after that we left grabbed a plate and helped ourselves to some mini burgers drinks and vege kebabs. It was very fancy delicous and most importantly healthy. Once again we sat outside ,chatted, and played games and a few minutes before we went inside Ms Flavelle was so on to it she orginized us into places and got us ready to sing to the public we sang toi mai which is a song we sing often at school. Most people enjoyed it but a few people carried on with there busy lives but after that I felt good and full of energy.
When all the singing was finshed we all gather back inside at our seats and Martin carried on with the last part of his presentation. He talked about managing our thoughts, he talked about things like how to calm yourself and what to do in out of hand situations. We talked about meditation and did some raisin meditating and some calm breathing, we learnt some pretty good things while doing this. We also got reminded of the some of the korero's at Point England School.
Once Martin had finished his presentation Marika said thank you and I filmed it. Aftet the group had said there good byes Martin had a chat with our teachers and left. We were left with the rest of the staff from K.P.M.G and they let us do some colouring while they handed out gifts. They gave us this highlighter flower with different highlighters in every petal. K.P.M.G also gave us a go-gadget and it counts our steps it really fun and I am excited to use it during the run and other times we do fitness at school.
After saying thank you wants again we boarded the bus back to school. That were we are gping to leave the story of our trip to K.P.M.G, I enjoyed this trip partly because it will help me in my future career as becoming a doctor and also because we had fun trying something new and also did some team building experiences. Overall this was an awesome amazing fun trip and I would love to go back there again and learn more. Maybe about Biology, History and maybe astrology and space it would be very interesting K.P.M.G would make it much better and 100 time more fun!

My Dad Is Crazy
Today something really weird happened. My dad decided to give my mum a bit of a suprise as you may or may not know my mum and little sister went to fiji. They had loads of fun with my new baby neice more about her later. Anyways my dad is a mechanic and he was fixing trucks for this army company thing.
The company had shut down do to other things. I am not really sure what the reason is or anything but I do know that they got bankrupt. So my dad was fixing one of there trucks and the person that own the truck tell my dad about buying a jeep truck thingy. I don't know why or anything but my dad decided to take it for $14,000. YES I know what your think this guy must be rich and crazy!
Back to the story on the night my mum came back he parked it in our yard but my mum doesn't even know it ours. My dad won't tell her because he thinks she's going to wash it, another reason is that she will most likely flip a bit like I did. So my dad has told my mum a lie and we are all keeping it a secret but the thing is we are going to tell her at the end of this month.
I am kind of curious about what's been happening and so on. I will let you know and keep you posted about whats happening!

Mac & Cheese
Today I made Mac and Cheese for my family. It was really nice and they enjoyed it too! I hope you will enjoyed this post about Making Macoroni and Cheese. I will share what we did and how to make it too.
As you know Muslims can only have halal meat so instead of using bacon I used chicken breast. So the first thing we did was pre cook the meat. Just frying it with onions in a pan is fine you can add some flavouring if wanted. In a different pan you may want to start boiling you macoroni, follow the instructions in your packet in order to do so.
The next thing we did was make our white sauce in order to make this sauce you would need the following. 4 table spoons of flower onion, half a cup of milk and 1 table spoon of oil. The next thing you need to do fry your onions like you did with you meat then add flower it should turn kinda of stiff and dry like dough. Add small amount of milk wait till it thicken before adding more. Once all you milk as done add you meat, you will need and oven tray for the next part. Cover and oven try with baking paper if wanted then put you macorni in to the tray then add the white sauce once the say is finished sprinkle with a fair amount of cheese about 1 cup.
Put the tray into the oven and cook for 10 minutes at 160 degrees celsius then remove from the oven. Allow it to cool and dish out into plates you can start on dishes or eat right away either way you would enjoy. Bon appetit! you done!

Food Tech
Today we had food tech again at Tamaki college. It was very fun this week we made something with mince meat I am not sure what it was to be exact but it was deliscous and included some hard work. We started by walking to tamaki college as usual went to our class room washed our hands and put on our aprons.
Ms H then marked the roll and we got our trolleys cleaning supplies and frying pan. We started by getting some water in a pot and put in the macoroni. Then we got our individual instructions I was the person number 2 in my group I was incharge of all the vegetables. I think I go them done pretty well I pealed washed and grated the carrots, I peeled and diced the onion and garlic and had time to help other members in my group.
After everthing was chopped my group started frying our onions in oil. Once the onion turned a shade of yellow we added the meat, it was smelling quite nice. Most of the other groups we still cutting so we started on our dishes there were quite alot from the sauces the meat the vegetables. It was also my lucky day cause I had to wash it was really hard but my group got it done.
We finsihed cooking the macoroni assembled all the ingredients in the pan. We then surved it out on some plates and we got back to wiping washing and putting away. My group was done pretty quickly and we aloud to put our aprons back and start eating so that's what we did.
I enjoyed making this dish and I can't wait till next week, I know I say this every week but thank you to everyone that's making tech possible. We have learnt heaps this term and are really getting a taste of what college is going to be like.(Get it food tech TASTE) anways I would just like to say THANK YOU SO MUCH!
