What Am I?

Can you guess what I am? Well here are 3 clues to let you know. You get three guess let’s see if you can guess what I am by the end!

Clue 1, am native to South America but now grow mostly in Southeast Asia. This means I am an exoctic and unquie fruit.. A common name I have a Pitaya. 

Clue 2, I am hot pink and sometimes red but my inside is completely different. I am very beautiful looking and I grow around loads of prickly green plants. I am also very pretty looking!

  

Clue 3,I am delicious too mildly sweet, my taste is bland too. My taste is similar to cactus pear watermelon and Kiwi fruit. I hold 60 calories, Protein: 3.57 g, Vitamin c: 9.2 mg, Dietary fiber: 1.8 g, Sodium: 39 mg, Calcium: 107 mg (Per 100g).I am also a fruit of several different cactus species.

Have you guessed what I am well the truth is I am a dragon fruit. I am tropical, I am unique and I am also apart of the cactus species. Were these good clues? And did you guess what fruit I am?

Pythagoros Therom!

This week in maths we learnt about the Pythagoros Therom. It's when you use the add together two sides of a rectangle after they are squared and then find the sqaure root of that answer to find the hypotanues of a right angle triangle.

When we finsihed we had to do a task where we had to show how the sqaure and triangles can be rearranged to make another shape.

 This was a way to prove the Pythagoros Thereom. I like this task I did it twice one with Eden and again with Pisi. It was really fun and I did find it interesting!

What Is Science

This term we are learning about science and mainly waters and organisms and things like that. So in literacy we decided learn about what science is and things about science. As a result we created a poster to teach you a few things about science. Obviously this isn't all that science is about it about many thing these are just some of the basics. I had fun in this task and can't wait to do more during the rest of the term!

Something in the Water???

Today was the first day of term 3. That means we had an immersion Assembly. It was pretty interesting and not what you expect. But teacher at our school always go beyond our expectation, and that's exactly what they did. Here is a recount on our term 3 immersion assembly enjoy!

The first thing I realised when we arrived into the hall was the smell of seafood in the air. I recognised the smell as it very strong and my mum always cooks seafood it's her favourite. But I for one despise it. I hate the smell of seafood and I don't like the taste either. Unless of course it's sushi everyone loves sushi. We sit down and room five is usually in the back so I struggle to see what's going on, but I can see a grill all the way at the front of the hall. I also noticed the prefect we zooming across the hall like waiters and waitresses. 

When the music stopped the prefects did the Karakia and Mihi. Then Mr Burt greeted us, we greeted him back pretty much what happens in a normal assemebly. I don't realise what happened but in a blink of an eye Mr Burt pulled out a fish. He explained that it meant it was called a Kahawai and it mean Strong Water in Maori, as it's a very strong swimmer. Mr Burt also told us and it's really something to catch a Kahawai. He then sliced a sharp knife through the fish and started cutting it up. I didn't look as I didn't like it when thing got cut up.

When he finsihed a video from the team one teachers started. They had another S.O.F.A (Solution For Animals) movie. But instead of saving the bees they decided to look at sea creatures. They went on a journey and observed many different types of sea creatures. It was all very interesting and cool to watch. I am sure team 1 is excited to learn about sea life.

Mean while Mr Burt and started cooking the Kahawai and was now cutting a new fish. He told us about how him and his son liked to go diving and when they would find this fish it would shine it's target to scare them away. Mr Burt also said that when the fish shines it's target him and his son would throw their spears at it and try and hunt it down. He described the fish as Dory's Uncle. I thought it was pretty funny and was intrigued until he started cutting up that fish.

Once he finsihed a movie started playing from the team 2 teachers. It started with the teachers taking a nature walk around our reserve. They talked about ducks and how you shouldn't throw the bread in the water. They also walked along the beach and looked for sea creatures. The sad thing is that they didn't find many. At the end of the video Mrs Gaston came on stage and talked told us about what team 2 were gonna be doing.

This time their weren't any fish guts and we went straight into watching team three's movie. It was about Remona who was looking for a new guardian to look the water. She went to many different creatures she thought may suit the role but didn't find one until the very end. She was very tired and found a wise old fish that will only take what he needs and will always put everything else in front of himself. This movie had a great message and was very intertaining!

After the team 4's movie played it was about the team for teachers going to the beach. Their they looked at the veiw and even the sea creatures. They looked at the food chain and how the mollusk's ate the small little tiny microscofic fish and crabs eat the Mollusk and the Seagull's eat the Crabs. They also told us that humans are the biggest threat to birds and all the other creatures and we are interfering with the food chain.


The last item was from team 5 A.K.A the team I'm in. As always the team 5 teachers went beyond and came up with a little song/chant for us. It was about how all living organism are connected. They talked about Cella's and how inside the Cella's are Chromosome and inside the Chromosome and inside that is D.N.A and inside the D.N.A is Nucleodites and inside that Nucleodites are Genes. It was very entertaining and I even started singing along to it.


I had loads of fun at the immersion assemble and can't wait to do learning this term. Espacially because it's based around water and science. We maybe even have a trip to the beach to collect "SAMPLES. Another thing we have on this term is Manaiakalani Film Festival which is always loads of fun. I can't wait for this great term of learning!

What is Science?

Task Description: This term our focus is on something in the water. We are focusing on science, we have started doing this by learning what science is. Is part of our reading and I really enjoyed doing this task. I learnt heaps about sciences and even note taking. It wasn't the easiest but after some help we were able to sucssefully take notes.

Back To School

My Mothers Birthday

In a few days it's going to be my mum's birthday. We have bought her many things for her birthday and we have the whole day planned. It's going to be very fun for us and our mum. Were gonna take her shopping we're gonna take her to dinner we are also going to give her loads of presents.

We bought them today as my mums at work and won't know what were doing. I for one think that this is going to make her very happy. Most birthdays my dad is lazy and we don't get to do anything special. But this time he doesn't know what we are doing either as went and bought the present with our money and in our own time.

We gonna set everything up when my mother goes to have a shower. Wish us luck. I will update you later on how it went down so keep a look out for that post!

The True Story (Three Little Pigs)

Once there lived a wolf he had a reputation of being the baddest animal in the forest but for real he was a big old cushion. One day the wolf was taking a walk when he got sprayed by one of the alergi flower alergi flowers make anyone sneeze at whatever the smell. That night the wolf found out that his grandmother was sick. So the next day he was made a cake for her to make her feel loved. The wolf got to work he started making the batter when he saw he had no sugar. 

So he went to his neighbor's house the little pig to ask for some. At that time the little pig had just finished building his house. The wolf knocked on the door and said ‘’ little pig little pig let me in’’ the little pig answered ‘’ not by the hair of my chiny chin chin’’. Outside by the door a bit of hay fell on his snout a and because of the alergi flowers it made him sneeze. 

‘’AAAAAA CCCCCC HHHHHH OOOOOO’’…….. The house of hay had blown away because of the wolf’s courages sneeze. There on the ground lay the little pig dead, the wolf said to himself ‘’ we don’t want this pig to go to waste’’ he went of to the pig and ate the pig.

But the wolf still didn’t have his sugar. So he moved over to his next neighbor. He walked up to the wood house and knocked on the door ‘’ little pig little pig let me in’’ the little pig answered ‘’ Not by the hair of my chinny chin chin ‘’ that’s when the dust from next door blew right past the wolf snout.

Once again a humongous sneeze came AAAAAA CCCCCC HHHHHH OOOOOO……….. It blew over the house with tiny glimpse of the sneeze the house collapsed and again on the ground was a dead pig.

Once again the wolf said to himself ‘’ we must not let this feast fit for a king go to waste but he wasn’t alone when he ate the second pig next door there also lived a pig and he had misapprehend and called the police right away.

The wolf finished his feist and still had know sugar so he went to the next neighbour. He knocked on the door and said once again ‘’little pig little pig let me in’’ the little pig helped ‘’ not by the hair of my chiny chin chin no leave before I call the authority . Just as he as the wolf turned around to leave a blue birds feather came down and tickled the wolf snout then ‘’AAAAAA CCCCC CCCCC AHHHHHH OOOOOOOO’’…….

But this time nothing happened the brick house still standing exactly where it was the ‘’ FREEZE WITH YOUR HANDS UP. They took the wolf to the station and was charged he had to spend his whole life in jail. The wolf tried to explain what happened but the police didn't listen. When the reporters found out they thought the story wasn’t really real so they jazzed it up and made the story of the three little pigs.

That’s the original story of the three little pigs.

Why are Snakes Dangerous

Cinderella Character's

Everyone knows what happens to Cinderella at the end of the fairytale. They lived happily ever after, but what really happened. What happened to the step family the dad the fairy godmother well don’t worry cause today I will be telling you just that!

First up, let's talk about the wicked stepmother. She isn’t the nicest person you met but is she truly evil. Cinderella’s stepmother was the worst part of her life because the step mother made her do all the housework. She then didn’t allow her to go to the ball so she wasn’t the nicest person. But when Cinderella moved to her palace what happened to her. Well she was left with in the house and was allowed to visit Cinderella daily if wanted. She was also given some money as a gift from Cinderella’s kind heart.

The second person we are going to talk about is the oldest evil step sister. After learning from Cinderella she decided that she wasn’t going to be mean or evil as that’s not what the world is made of. She learnt to love and now has a family of her own. She fell in love with their local baker and now enjoys living her life in the town.

The youngest step sister is still the evil step mothers knew Cinderella. As there is no one else to do the housework cooking the youngest step sister that only one left. But it kind of serves her right after what she used to do to Cinderella.

Now that we’ve talked about the step family we should focus on Cinderella’s dad. He married Cinderella’s stepmother and kind of ruined her life. He went on a world tour and left her back with the step family. On his journey he experiences many things at some point. He is now retired and living with his wife in the same house. 

The next person we are going to talk about is Cinderella’s Fairy godmother. One of the most important characters. Without her Cinderella would have never made it to the ball and never danced with the prince. But where is she now does she have her own happily ever after? That a good question and sadly I don’t have the answer to that.

That was pretty much all of the characters in this story. What other fairy tale would you like to here about. I honestly I think it’s weird that only on the princes and princesses only get a happily ever after. What do you think?

In term 2 I had loads of fun and here is a poster that explains everything that we learnt this term. I had loads of fun and I next terms going to be as fun as this one!

Cinderella Story time

Once upon a time there lived a rich man. He had a beautiful daughter, her name was Ella. One day Ella 's mother died. Ella was heartbroken. After a few days Ella's father decided to get married again. When Ella's new family moved in, Ella's father went to explore the world. Ella's stepmother was not kind, she was mean and horrid. She brought her daughters with her when she moved in.

Ella was forced to do all the housework and chores. The worst thing about it all was that as soon as Ella would finished something another thing would be waiting for. Her Step Family didn’t do a thing to help.

In the evening  Ella would sit by the cinders and ashes to rest and keep warm. Whenever the sister saw her they would mock her and call her Cinderella as she would always sit by the cinders and ashes from the fire.

One day when Cinderella went to get the mail she saw an invitation. When the sister saw Cinderella reading the invitation they snatched it off her and took it to their mother. After they took it to their mother she started reading the invitation to herself. The mother read the invitation. The stepsisters started jumping up and down. The old one said “Cinderella can make us all new a dress. The other sisters said “I heard the Prince is looking for a wife”. So it began Cinderella had to do all the housework and cooking along with getting her step family ready for the ball. Of course she was not allowed to go with them.

On the night of the grand ball Cinderella helped her stepsisters get dressed. She gave them manicures pedicures and everything else you do to get ready for a special occasion. The time came when the stepsisters and stepmother left for the palace. Cinderella slowly walked back to the fireplace and sat down where she always did by the cinders and ashes.

When Cinderella sat by the cinders and ashes tears began to fall down her cheeks. Suddenly a kind looking woman appeared. The woman very nicely dressed and had wings allowing her to fly and hover about Cinderella’s head. 

Cinderella's fairy godmother has appeared! “Hello darling I am your fairy godmother, I am here to help you get to the Grand Ball” she said in the sweetest voice you could imagine. She went into the garden followed by Cinderella and tapped an enormous pumpkin and immediately it turned into a  beautiful coach and six grey mice turned into six grey horses to pull the coach. But there was one more problem left Cinderella didn't have anything to wear to the ball. 

So Cinderella 's fairy God tapped her on the shoulder and soon Cinderella was wearing the most beautiful gown in the land. But Cinderella's fairy god mother told her that she had to be back at midnight as everything will turn back to what it once was. Cinderella didn’t think much of it and took of to the ball.

When Cinderella walked into the ball all the ladies and gentlemen were stunned by Cinderella's beauty. When Cinderella got to the bottom of the steps the Prince came and took her hand asking her to dance. The music began and Cinderella and the Prince danced all night. The stepmother and stepsister stayed in the side wondering who the beautiful woman was. We green with jealousy as Cinderella danced the night away.

Cinderella was having such fun that she lost track of time. Soon the chimes for midnight finally rolled around and Cinderella ran out of the palace not thinking about what will happen if she stayed a second longer. As she was rushing through the palace one of her glass slippers were left behind. Soon the Prince stumbled upon it. The Prince called his royal entourage and ordered them to travel the land and look for the woman who fit the slipper.

The very next day the Prince and his servants set off to find the woman who fits the slipper.

When the Prince and the servant came to Cinderella's house, Cinderella’s step mother locked her in a room after tricking her into thinking something she needed was in their. But thanks to the little mice friends Cinderella has was little mice who stole the key from the Stepmother they free her just in time.

Cinderella’s mother tried to force the sisters  big feet inside the little slipper, and failed terribly. When Cinderella got out of her room she was asked to try the slipper and the sisters burst out with laughter. The servant went to Cinderella. But as he was walking to Cinderella he was tripped by the evil stepmother as he fell and hit the ground the glass slipper broke into thousands of pieces.

Cinderella slowly took out the other glass slipper and said maybe this can help. So when she sat down to try it on, well it was the perfect fit. The servants took her to the palace where the Prince was waiting. When she got there the Prince asked her to marry him and they lived happily ever after.

Funny Baby Moments

Tidy VS Messy

Today me and my siblings decided that our rooms have gotten a quite messy when while we been at school. We had things all over the place! Book,brush, electronic our floor was hard to see. Me and my sisters decided to do something about it and we cleaned up all of our rooms.

In my room their we books all over the desk and dust all over the table. We also had to wipe down our window which was not clear at all. We also had things on our all over our bed, mostly lotion and hair products from getting ready to go somewhere. We had to do some tidying IMMEADIATELY!

The first thing Me and my little sister did was orginize our small draw. In their we usually keep jewelry and hair accesiories, but lately it had gotten a bit mixed up and unorginized. It looked like chaos, with broken hair clips and bracelets with worn out hair elastics. Their was some cleaning out too do and that's exactly what we did.

We color coded everthing and even labeled the back. Now we will be able to find anything in exactly 10 secs. I for one am pretty proud of my orginization skill. I have always enjoyed orginizing things and also tiding and cleaning. I also enjoy the result of having everything put away nicely. This took about half and hour after we got some help from our mum.


We then moved onto cleaning dresser which had become a mess. There we toys everywhere, and also things that shouldn't be their. A.K.A my sisters socks! We got cleaning immediately not being afraid of throwing away unessary things. This took about another half and our but we did get it down. We even wiped down everything.

The last two things we the bed and my desk. We picked all the books up and put them away, vaccumed the carpet after picking things up. made sure that we wiped thing that we dusty. I even color coded my pillows and blankets. We folded wiped thing down and even swept things away. When we finally finished we were exhausted!


We had finished our room cleaning and it was a huge sucsess. I don't think I will ever let my room get that messy again. I have learnt my lesson and I know that it's hard working cleaning and keep things tidy. But other than that I had fun and I hope you had fun reading about it!
